Our journey begins in Guji Uraga, one of Ethiopia's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Nestled at high altitudes, Uraga is blessed with fertile red soil, cool mountain air, and generations of farming knowledge.
Here, coffee is more than a crop—it is a way of life. Smallholder farmers carefully cultivate indigenous Ethiopian Arabica varieties, harvesting cherries by hand at peak ripeness. Through traditional natural and washed processing, Guji Uraga coffees develop their signature profiles.

Our roots also extend to Kembata–Adilo, a lesser-known but rapidly emerging coffee origin in southern Ethiopia.

Messanta Coffee: Our Story and Establishments.

The name “Messanta” means “united” in the Harari language—a reflection of our mission to bring people together through coffee. Messanta Coffee was first established in 2023 as a coffee shop, creating a vibrant hub for the younger generation to connect, network, and enjoy specialty coffee.
Our story began in 2023 when we opened our first coffee shop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Since then, we have grown to become a leading coffee export company, exporting coffee to countries all over the world.
Empowering Our Team From the beginning, we focused on training our employees, equipping them with technical know-how and practical skills to excel in the coffee industry. Today, 90% of our team are women, and empowering women remains at the heart of our company values.

From a single coffee shop to a comprehensive coffee company spanning roasting, export, and direct farmer partnerships.
Expansion into Roasting
After a year of working closely with the coffee supply chain, we established Messanta Roastery, where we developed expertise in roasting coffee to various profiles, catering to diverse customer preferences. Our careful approach led to the creation of our first signature blend: ALPHA BLEND.

Our Signature Creation
ALPHA BLEND is a harmonious mix of premium Arabica beans from Ethiopia's most renowned regions: Harar, Kembata, Guji, Sidamo, and Jimma. The blend received excellent feedback from consumers, and we now distribute it across retail, wholesale, and corporate clients, including hotels, coffee shops, and businesses.
Sourcing & Preparation
We source coffee both locally and internationally, ensuring quality and consistency. To strengthen our connection with origins, we have established coffee preparation sites in Guji Uraga and Kembata Adilo, where we work directly with farmers to support sustainable and high-quality coffee production.
